To reiterate from the "old board":

Born and raised in Indiana and living in Indianapolis for a stint, attending practices and time trials, it's been a tradition for me my entire life. It's the only race I watch all year.

Marco and the others are going to have to dump that Honda engine if they want to be competitive.

Well, it wasn't an Andretti but it was a member of the Andretti team!

Got to ride a lap around the track a few years ago with my son on a scout field trip... he was less impressed that I was:

True story: I had some business in Indianapolis a while back, booked a hotel stay at the Conrad downtown. Had NO idea there was some "race" thing going on. Hotel packed, the hotel bar there is apparently an epicenter of meetups and socializing over race weekend. Didn't actually realize what was going on until I came down from my room, and my friend yelled out "JIM NABORS! WE GOTTA GET A PHOTO!" I'm two steps behind, mentally and otherwise, why Gomer Pyle is standing in the lobby of our hotel. My buddy throws an arm over Jim, pulls me in, and I now have a photo of us buddy-hugging the guy from the Andy Griffith show. AFTERWARDS, I'm like "why / what was that all about?" and I learn he's been a fixture of the Indy 500, which is apparently going on.

TL/DR: The Indy Conrad is a nice domestic hotel, with good toiletries and fluffy towels. The spa there is very good. Breakfast was lacking for a Hilton Diamond guest.

I don't know the first thing about car racing, but I do like...um, "sports" in general. So I'm gonna say with full authority that the Indy 500 sux!

Cuz that's what we do around here now, right?

Go, Andretti!

Didn't realize until this weekend that Marco has basically retired from the sport with the exception of this race.

This may be his last one, he's starting in the 25th position. :o
