Completely agree with Mr.77, I preferred the bonuses to the other tracks, and wasn't a big fan of Diggles' vocals though they sounded great when I saw them live last year. If you pledged Dude, then you should have received an email with the link today.

On my initial listen of this, I am enjoying it. Yes, there's a lot of Diggle, yes most of the songs are not that fast (I don't mind that; a few even veer towards glam-rock and pub-rock) but they are catchy and some interesting lyrics, too, at least on first listen.

How does it compare to the Self Titled from 2003 or Flat Pack Philosophy?

Slower. I think it may have something to do with the bass sound too as I really liked Tony Barber in the band.

I'm listening to it again now as I am hoping to catch their set here on Friday night and I must say that at least 4 songs in, it's really growing on me. I wasn't into it at first, but I think at the very least that I will end up liking this one more than Flat Pack Philosophy.

No, the last two CDs prior to this one had some good songs. This one = 0.

Yeah, you should check out the s/t album on Merge from 2003. There are some really great songs on that one, clash77, including a few that were only on bootlegs (albeit on a really well-circulated one that I think got an official release; Time's Up) before like "Lester Sands" that date back to the days when Devoto was in the band. I do like the new one more than lewdd does, though.

Sadly, missing them tonite because making rent$ is more important than the 'cocks @ Black Cat. My mate Krrl is doing "double header" tonight seeing White Lung @ DC9 & Buzzcocks afterwards. That's a whole lotta musica de los DC :!:

Ok sir, I trust your opinion and I'll look into that..I love the Devoto Era stuff and they have put out some good records in their later years..

So DC Dags (Hunter, ?) who went to the 'cocks gig the other day: you seemed to have enjoyed them but was their playing/sound impressive :?: My mates have told me: "They looked really old and the club sound system for mainstage shows is terrible". Tell me your review about the gig I missed, please. :(

Curious what you'll think; I tried Trade Test Transmissions the other day (had never heard it before) and just wasn't feeling it at all. Some of the subsequent reunion stuff is better for sure.

Saw them over the weekend and they put on a pretty good show. Can't say how it compared to other tours as it was the first time I've seen them. I'm really only familiar with the 70s stuff and most of their setlist seemed to stick to that, with a few newer songs mixed in. I bought the new CD at the show and I'll probably give it a listen later today.

Yep. Pretty much every Buzzcocks show I've ever seen (going back to the early '90s) is the hits plus several songs from the newest album they have out. I am bummed that I missed them this time around.

So I listened to the new CD once through so far, and it's not bad at all. There are maybe 2-3 weaker songs, but it's pretty good. Obviously the band is not in the heyday of their original run in the 70s, but this is worth a listen. Now I want to go back and check out all the post-reformation albums I never bothered with and see if I like any of those.
